One of the best books I've read this year is the new book by W. Cleon Skousen, author of the bestseller, "The Five Thousand Year Leap". His newest book, "The Cleansing of America" is a sequel to "The Majesty of God's Law", and was just published by his family. (Skousen passed away in 2006) He told his family he didn't feel comfortable about going public with the book until "the time was right." This book deals with prophecy and the latter days.

Before Skousen passed, his family asked him when that "right time" to publish the book would be, and he said, "You will know. It will be dark time when the Constitution is being abandoned, when economic turmoil boils on every level of society and government. It will be a time when people give up hope." Tax Day Tea Party

The Tax Day Tea Party in Salt Lake City, Utah was an awesome event. Hundreds of Patriots gathered for speeches, music and inspiration. The weather cooperated and we had a beautiful sunshiney day, surrounded by gorgeous mountains and true Patriots. We met on the steps and front lawn of the Utah State Capitol, and the event was well attended, even though it was held on a mid week work day.

Just heard on FOX News the Oregon teacher who promoted anti-Tea Party infiltration has been suspended by his school district. Good news!

At our rally, there were a few protesters who were anti-Tea Party, but they were just ignored. I saw one guy carrying an inflamatory and obscene sign, reading.... "F@&;# Glenn Beck. He lies." The trouble was the protester had to keep lowering his sign to tug at his drooping, descending jeans and brush his greasy hair out of his eyes. Most who witnessed this demonstration saw the humor in it and just smiled and looked away.

I can't wait for the coming elections this Fall, it's time to Take Back America!!!! God Bless the U.S.A.!

Governor Romney today issued the following statement on House passage of the healthcare bill:

America

has just witnessed an unconscionable abuse of power. President Obama has betrayed his oath to the nation — rather than bringing us together, ushering in a new kind of politics, and rising above raw partisanship, he has succumbed to the lowest denominator of incumbent power: justifying the means by extolling the ends. He promised better; we deserved better.

He calls his accomplishment “historic” — in this he is correct, although not for the reason he intends. Rather, it is an historic usurpation of the legislative process — he unleashed the nuclear option, enlisted not a single Republican vote in either chamber, bribed reluctant members of his own party, paid-off his union backers, scapegoated insurers, and justified his act with patently fraudulent accounting. What Barack Obama has ushered into the American political landscape is not good for our country; in the words of an ancient maxim, “what starts twisted, ends twisted.”

His health-care bill is unhealthy for

America

. It raises taxes, slashes the more private side of Medicare, installs price controls, and puts a new federal bureaucracy in charge of health care. It will create a new entitlement even as the ones we already have are bankrupt. For these reasons and more, the act should be repealed. That campaign begins today."

"Avatar" Defends Property Rights

The right has 'Avatar' wrong
Forget its left-wing themes. At its core, the movie is about defending property rights -- something conservatives should embrace.

"Conservatives have been very critical of the Golden Globe-winning film "Avatar" for its mystical melange of trite leftist themes. But what they have missed is that the essential conflict in the story is a battle over property rights.

"Avatar," written and directed by James Cameron and set in 2154, is the story of young American Jake Sully, who joins a military mission to the distant moon Pandora, which has a supply of an expensive and almost impossible to obtain mineral (thus its name, "unobtainium"). Living among the tall, blue natives in the form of an "avatar" -- a lab-created body hooked up by Wi-Fi to his own brain -- Sully comes to doubt his mission and to join the Na'vi people in resisting the earthlings' designs on their land.

Despite its magnificent 3-D special effects, it features a tired plot and merely serviceable dialogue.

But conservatives have focused on the ideas that the film embodies. In National Review, Frederica Mathewes-Green mocked its dreamy vision of "the apparently eternal conflict between gentle people with flowers in their hair and technology-crazed meanies."

Ross Douthat in the New York Times called it an "apologia for pantheism." John Podhoretz in the Weekly Standard complained that it asks "the audience to root for the defeat of American soldiers at the hands of an insurgency." Lots of conservatives complain that a movie about American soldiers invading another planet and killing people is an allegory about the Iraq war. And many agree with Bolivia's socialist president that "Avatar" is anti-capitalist.

They all have a point. The film is a perfect souffle of left-wing attitudes.

But conservative critics are missing the conflict at the heart of the movie. It's quite possible that Cameron missed it too."

Iran Mocks America and Israel

"Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Monday that the threat of a U.S. or Israeli military strike against Iran was no longer an issue because "they don't have the courage" to attack Iran.

"The age of military attacks is over, now we've reached the time for dialogue and understanding. Weapons and threats are a thing of the past," the Iranian president said at a joint press conference with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, closing his one-day visit.

Iran's leader got a welcoming bear hug from the Brazilian president, who urged Western nations to drop threats of punishment over the Iranian nuclear program and instead negotiate a fair solution.

Is this April Fool's Day? Obama wins the Nobel Peace Prize? On the same day we bomb the moon? In the same week Obama considers working with the Taliban in Afghanistan? Oh sure, he really deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.

Obama says it's "a call to action", well ok, maybe this is the motivation he needed to finally get something done in his administration.

I guess these days they award the Nobel Peace Prize before the accomplishments and achievements actually become visible.

What I'm wondering is who controls the Nobel Peace Prize Committee? Who really made this decision to further puff up the Executive Ego which has recently suffered some significant deflation. Who is trying to inflate the image of the "Commander-in-Chief"? Who is really controlling this country? If we look into who is the force behind the Nobel Peace Prize Committee, will we find out who is really the shadow government controlling this country? I don't believe in conspiracy theories, but I do believe in common sense. And it is the common sense of the American people which recognizes Obama has done absolutely nothing to deserve this award. All the online polls are showing very few believe this award was deserved.

It is simply an image booster, and I really want to know, who is doing the boosting? And why?

Obama Still Running?

Some political commentators have observed Obama seems to be conducting his Presidency as if he is still running for office. Example, his recent rant at a rally for the health care bill....
"Fired up! Ready to go!, Fired up! Ready to go!,

Why does he still seem to be running? Well, maybe he's not running toward something, but away from something... like lots of current burning issues.

But as he leaves his post today to fly to Denmark to push his hometown, Chicago, as the 2016 Olympics venue, (probably as a payback for his Chicago cronies), the pesky problems he is running from are not going away.

Americans are waking up to the continuous corruption in DC (and Chicago). It's about time Obama wakes up and remembers he is the President of all the people and he works for us.

Glenn Beck Searches For 56 Refounders

It's about time good and honest politicians (I know there still has to be a few), Democrats and Republicans or Independents, stand steady and hold fast to the principles and values our great nation was founded on. Each political party needs to police their own party and weed out the corruption.

Glenn Beck is looking for 56 of these men and women who will "refound" our nation and bring it back from the edge of disaster and desolation. I think this is the best idea I've heard and today I've even read on the blogs of the possibility of forming a future Refounders Party!

In Utah, I know of only one such politician, Congressman Jason Chaffetz, who is the Republican member of the United States House of Representatives for Utah's 3rd congressional district. He isn't my congressman, but I hope he joins the Refounders, he is the kind of leader America needs today. There are already two Refounders who have joined, as of yesterday. I wonder how long it will take to find 56.

Here is a summary of Glenn Beck's proposal:

"This amazing country had 56 founders — 56 brave, good, decent human beings. That's all it took, why should it be any different today to take the country back? Did you attend a rally or a viewing party on September 12th? What were your feelings? Did you feel and remember the spirit of 9/12/01? It is my feeling that this is just the beginning. Washington will be transformed, but not in the way Obama had hoped. The people have spoken!

I attended a viewing party in South Jordan, Utah. It was totally amazing to feel the spirit there. The room was filled to overflowing and a second room had to be opened to accommodate the crowd.

The Nine Principles of the 9/12 Project were evident and experienced by everyone. Americans will not be denied their Freedom...whatever the cost!

I had a bad feeling about a political figure speaking to the nation's young children on their first day back to school today. I'm reading an amazing and terrifyng new fiction book titled "One Second After" by Wiiliam R. Forstchen. The novel is about what our future might be like if an EMP weapon was used against our country. An EMP is an electromagnetic pulse that would shut down our entire electonic system.

Freedoms Disappearing Fast

Daniel stopped chemo after a single treatment. He and his parents opted instead for "alternative medicines" based on their religious beliefs.

The news today is very interesting and very disturbing. We are rapidly losing our freedom in this country. The news link below is very personal to me. A teenager, named Daniel, in Minnesota is being forced to undergo chemo therapy. His choice to use alternative therapy is being denied by the government.

Last year I had a serious cancer operation and underwent radiation therapy for 5 weeks. Those treatments were my choice. Since then, I have chosen to use alternative therapy. I have been taking essiac tea, which is an ancient Native American treatment, with great results.

The Minnesota teenage boy, Daniel, is Catholic, but also belongs to a Native American spiritual healing group. It is his choice to use natural treatment, rather than tradition medical treatment. He did undergo one chemo treatment, and then made his choice. At the trial in Minnesota, five medical doctors testified that he will probably die without chemo, yet it is proven that chemo (and even radiation therapy) often causes secondary cancers in other parts of the body. I learned this fact after taking five weeks of radiation therapy. (the medical doctors don't usually inform you of that in advance)

I believe it is against Daniel's Constitutional rights, to be forced to undergo a medical treatment he doesn't want.

The second link below is a poll that shows people want less government. I don't believe the government is listening or even cares what people want.

We must take a stand now, before more rights are lost and governmnet intervention in our lives becomes a more and more common fact of life in our once free America.

Update: Daniel and his mother are now on the run. The government has ordered that Daniel be taken from his mother, put in foster care and undergo mandatory traditional cancer therapy, against his wishes.

Cost of Stamps Rises Again

Here we go again. I waited in line for over 15 minutes at the Post Office last week to buy a booklet of stamps. There was no announcement of an imminent price hike. Now it's Monday morning, and my stamps are no good, unless I go back and wait in line again to purchase 2 cent stamps to go with those in the booklet! UGH!

It's way past time that the postal service is turned over to private enterprise!

In the news:

"WASHINGTON (AP) — The post office wants two more pennies for your thoughts.
The price of a first-class stamp for mailing a letter — or paying a bill — climbed to 44 cents Monday, though folks who planned ahead and stocked up on Forever stamps will still be paying the lower rate.

It's the third straight year rates have gone up in May under a new system that allows annual increases as long as they don't exceed the rate of inflation for the year before.

While the increase will bring in added income, the post office continues to struggle financially as more and more lucrative first-class mail is diverted to the Internet, and the recession discourages businesses from sending their usual volume of advertising.

The Postal Service, which does not get a taxpayer subsidy for its operations, lost $2.8 billion last year and is already $2.3 billion in the hole just halfway through this year.

Postmaster General John Potter has asked Congress for permission to reduce mail delivery to five days a week. The agency is offering early retirement to workers, consolidating excess capacity in mail processing and transportation networks, realigning carrier routes, halting construction of new postal facilities, freezing officer and executive salaries at 2008 pay levels and reducing travel budgets.

Even so, the rate increase is unlikely to cover the ongoing losses and the possibility remains that the post office could run out of money before the end of the fiscal year.

The post office could have cited extraordinary circumstances and asked the independent Postal Regulatory Commission for larger increases, but officials worried that would only result in a greater decline in mail volume and worse losses.

Potter has also urged congressional changes in how the post office prepays for retiree health care, to cut its annual costs by $2 billion.

While the new 44-cent rate covers the first ounce of first-class mail, the price for each additional ounce will remain unchanged at 17-cents.

Postal officials estimate the increase will cost the average household $3-a-year."

Swine Flu Scare

All the top headlines of theDrudge Report today are about the Swine Flu outbreak. There are already 40 confirmed cases in the United States.

I remember the Swine Flu outbreak back in the 1970's. There was talk of making the vaccine mandatory for all U.S. citizens at that time, until the vaccine started causing problems of it's own. The government's talk of mandatory vaccination was quickly dissolved. I never received the vaccine back then, but I do remember reading about how sick it made many people. I can't remember if anyone died from it, but it really did cause a lot of problems. (update: I just found an article, linked below, reporting that actually, hundreds died from the vaccine in 1976!)

With this new flu strain starting to spread, it is my hope that the current U.S. government will remember the swine flu vaccine fiasco of the 1970's and not be tempted to start including the phrase "mandatory inoculation" in their rhetoric.

Constitution Party Likely New Home for Conservatives

Lancaster, PA (April 6, 2009) The county’s fastest-growing third party, the Constitution Party, cites former House Speaker Newt Gingrich’s warning that conservatives may opt for a third party ( http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0409/20809.html) as further indication that voters will continue to look beyond the “Big Box” parties.

“If the Republicans can’t break out of being the right wing party of big government, then I think you would see a third party movement in 2012, Gingrich said during an address to students at the College of the Ozarks in Missouri.

Formed in 1992, the Constitution Party has seen increasing numbers of voters switching party affiliation while recording the largest number of new registrations of any party, according to the independent voting analysis publication Ballot Access News .

“Voters used to think they’d be wasting their votes by voting for a third party candidate” said Constitution Party National Committee Chairman Jim Clymer. “Those days appear to be over. I ask those wondering about the third party option how long they think it will take to get the kind of government they believe in, if they keep voting for people who won’t support their views,” Clymer added, reminding “conservatives” who voted for George W. Bush that their support made possible “Bush’s rush toward a fascist economy and a tyrannical federal government and laid the perfect groundwork for Obama to finish the job.”

The Constitution Party points out why major party faithful are feeling betrayed noting the Republicans failed voters on hot button issues like immigration, privacy, civil liberties and spending and the Democrats failed their base on the war and the so-called "Bailouts."

The Constitution Party’s 2008 presidential candidate Chuck Baldwin was endorsed by former GOP presidential candidate, one of the few constitutionally-correct members of Congress, Rep. Ron Paul. Taliban Chief Vows 'Amazing' Attack on Washington 'Soon'

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Pakistan — "The commander of the Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility Tuesday for a deadly assault on a Pakistani police academy and said the group was planning a terrorist attack on the U.S. capital.

Baitullah Mehsud, who has a $5 million bounty on his head from the U.S., said Monday's attack outside the eastern city of Lahore was in retaliation for U.S. missile strikes against militants along the Afghan border.

"Soon we will launch an attack in Washington that will amaze everyone in the world," Mehsud told The Associated Press by phone. He provided no details.

Mehsud and other Pakistani Taliban militants are believed to be based in the country's lawless areas near the border with Afghanistan, where they have stepped up their attacks throughout Pakistan.

The Taliban leader also claimed responsibility for a suicide car bombing that killed four soldiers Monday in Bannu district and a suicide attack targeting a police station in Islamabad last week that killed one officer."

FOX News had an anti-homeschooling advocate on this morning and her main arguement was "We have to keep education congruent." What she really was saying is that we can't have homeschooled kids overachieving and out-doing the kids schooled through the public education system. We can't have homeschooled kids winning national spelling bees and making the national education system look silly. We must get kids into the system and assure conformity, uniformity, compliancy, forcing into a mold, monotony, alignment with the norm, control.

Once again our judicial system moves to restrict religious and personal liberties, severely limit parental rights, and significantly increase the power, scope, and control of the state over our lives.There are approximately 166,000 homeschooled children in California.

With the stroke of a pen the appellate court criminalized the lawful educational choices of tens of thousands of innocent families across the state, subjected them to possible fines, and labeled their children as potential truants.

Whenever Muslims charge that the war on terror is really a war against Islam, Americans hasten to assure them they are wrong. Yet as Dinesh D’Souza argues in this powerful and timely polemic, there really is a war against Islam. Only this war is not being waged by Christian conservatives bent on a moral crusade to impose democracy abroad but by the American cultural left, which for years has been vigorously exporting its domestic war against religion and traditional morality to the rest of the world.

D’Souza contends that the cultural left is responsible for 9/11 in two ways: by fostering a decadent and depraved American culture that angers and repulses other societies—especially traditional and religious ones— and by promoting, at home and abroad, an anti-American attitude that blames America for all the problems of the world. Islamic anti-Americanism is not merely a reaction to U.S. foreign policy but is also rooted in a revulsion against what Muslims perceive to be the atheism and moral depravity of American popular culture. Muslims and other traditional people around the world allege that secular American values are being imposed on their societies and that these values undermine religious belief, weaken the traditional family, and corrupt the innocence of children.

But it is not “America” that is doing this to them, it is the American cultural left. What traditional societies consider repulsive and immoral, the cultural left considers progressive and liberating.Taking issue with those on the right who speak of a “clash of civilizations,” D’Souza argues that the war on terror is really a war for the hearts and minds of traditional Muslims—and traditional peoples everywhere. The only way to win the struggle with radical Islam is to convince traditional Muslims that America is on their side. We are accustomed to thinking of the war on terror and the culture war as two distinct and separate struggles.

D’Souza shows that they are really one and the same. Conservatives must recognize that the left is now allied with the Islamic radicals in a combined effort to defeat Bush’s war on terror. A whole new strategy is therefore needed to fight both wars. “In order to defeat the Islamic radicals abroad,” D’Souza writes, “we must defeat the enemy at home.”

Mitt Romney is down, but he might not be out.

Romney suspended his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination after a disappointing showing on Super Tuesday, and has endorsed John McCain for the GOP nod.
But Romney’s son Josh says it’s “possible” his father might rejoin the race as a candidate for vice president or for president if McCain’s campaign stalls.

Romney hasn’t commented publicly about a recent New York Times article that implied McCain had an improper relationship with a female lobbyist.

McCain and the lobbyist have firmly denied the allegation, but subsequent reports have contradicted some of McCain’s denials, and further disclosures could raise questions about the viability of McCain’s campaign, Andrew Malcolm reports in the Los Angeles Times.
Because he suspended his campaign rather than terminating it, Romney still controls nearly 300 delegates he won in early primaries and caucuses.

Josh Romney, who campaigned actively for his father, told the Deseret Morning News that he is considering running for the House of Representatives from Utah’s 2nd Congressional District.
Asked if Mitt Romney might rejoin the race, Josh said it is “unlikely, but possible.”

Malcolm notes: “Such a move could provide a possible rallying point for conservatives.”

Let's See ... Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton?

I cringe whenever Sean Hannity tries to make the case that Hillary Clinton is far worse than Barack Obama. I see Obama as far more dangerous.

Both Hillary and Barack are grown up Saul Alinsky radicals, Marxist revolutionaries. Diane Alden has written in NewsMax:

Saul Alinsky died in 1972. He was a Marxist grassroots organizer who spent much of his life organizing rent strikes and protesting conditions of the poor in Chicago in the 1930s. However, unlike Christian socialist and activist for the poor Dorothy Day, Alinsky's real claim to fame was as strategist for anti-establishment '60s radicals and revolutionaries.

Indeed, Alinsky wrote the rule book for '60s radicals like Bill and Hillary Clinton, George Miller and Nancy Pelosi. He considered Hillary Rodham to be one of his better students and asked her to join him in his efforts as an organizer of radical leftist causes. But Hillary had other fish to fry on her climb to national prominence.

While Hillary was beginning to set her sights higher, the younger Barack was being drawn into Alinsky's style of community organizing, where he made his mark. Here is what Wikepedia has to say about Hillary's and Barack's association with Alinsky:

Alinsky was the subject of Hillary Rodham's senior honors thesis at Wellesley College, "There Is Only The Fight...": An Analysis of the Alinsky Model. Rodham commented on Alinsky's "charm," but rejected grassroots community organizing as outdated. Once Hillary Rodham Clinton became First Lady of the United States, the thesis was suppressed by the White House for fear of being associated too closely with Alinsky's ideas.

Alinsky also had a significant influence on Barack Obama, who is a United States Senator and candidate for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination. Obama particularly used Alinsky's techniques while participating in Chicago community organizations in the 1980s.

During Obama's community organizing years he became involved in a Chicago church which preaches and teaches Marxist "Liberation Theology" (see Hugo Chavez in Venezuela) so that his Marxism has become more than a set of intellectually accepted conclusions. It has become for him a deeply religious crusade. He really believes Jesus Christ taught Marxism and, like Hugo Chavez, he is able to appeal religiously to the masses in ways Hillary cannot.

In my eyes, Obama is a dictator in the making.
